Itinerary
- Days 1–9 · Hong Kong and Shenzhen
Same as the first nine days of Shenzhen Tech & Markets: Hong Kong, Shenzhen University, Futuristic Shenzhen, two days at Huaqiangbei, Dafen, Wutong Mountain and the Shekou Value Factory. - Day 10 · To Guangzhou
Morning for last souvenirs in Shenzhen. In the evening, the high-speed train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou (about 30 minutes) and hotel check-in in Zhujiang New Town or Yuexiu. - Day 11 · Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) · Canton Tower
Campus day at the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University, one of China's oldest and most prestigious universities, known for its historic red-brick buildings and century-old trees. Evening: Zhujiang New Town's futuristic square and up the Canton Tower (604 m) for the night view over the Pearl River. - Day 12 · Guangzhou shoe markets
A full day around Guangzhou Railway Station: Zhanxi Road and Global International Shoes City (Buyun Tiandi), a centre of the world's shoe trade with floor after floor of men's, women's and sports shoes, from mass market to premium. - Day 13 · Markets, day 2 · Shamian Island
Morning: more shoe shopping or a clothing market nearby. Afternoon: Shamian Island, a quiet oasis of European colonial-era buildings where British and French merchants once lived. - Day 14 · Old Guangzhou and the Pearl River
Morning: the Chen Clan Academy, a stunning example of traditional Cantonese architecture with wood and stone carving. Afternoon: Shangxiajiu or Beijing Road pedestrian streets, where old road surfaces from several dynasties are preserved under glass beneath your feet. Evening: a Pearl River cruise. - Day 15 · Departure
Flight home from Guangzhou Baiyun airport (CAN).

Guangzhou hotels get much busier and pricier during the Canton Fair (mid-April to early May and mid-October to early November).
